| Summary | 0000136: Wrong/confusing error message when reinstallation fails | ||||
| Description | When re-installing BMS the installation fails with the following error message .. it attempts to name the offending registry key but the location is wrong, on x64 systems (which is now all that is supported). This error message should be updated. (Or maybe just get rid of the error condition entirely? It's not clear to me why the existence of this mostly-empty reg key, pointing to a nonexistent filesystem directory, would block installation.. maybe the intent was to avoid accidental overwrite of user config data.. ok. but if the actual filesystem directory it points to doesn't exist, just go ahead with the fresh install.) | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Uninstall, re-install. See attached error message. Look for that key in regedit .. don't find it. Look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims Delete that key Re-attempt reinstall Success | ||||
