| Summary | 0000104: Problems using mousewheel as Throttle | ||||
| Description | I fully realize I may be the only person who wants to fly this way (mouse on left, for pov and throttle) so marking this low-pri.. but it seems worth looking into, like there might be something broken at a deeper level with mousewheel input handling. If this option (mapping throttle to mousewheel) was not really ever meant to work, I won't cry too loudly if it's removed. :P But it actually flies pretty well, esp. with a Kensington trackball. The good: - keeps one hand on throttle, for those of us without headtracking setups - lowering the mousewheel sensitivity slider allows for very fine-grain throttle adjustment - press-and-hold the wheelbutton to move 6dof head position still works, which is nice The bad: - direction seems backward (and stock Windows control panel settings for mouse offer no easy way to reverse the mousewheel direction) - clicking the wheelbutton still does an fov-reset, in addition to also moving the throttle to the 50% position.. lol - the mousewheel stops responding, if any key- or dx-buttons bound to AFThrottleUp/Down are triggered .. eventually it seems to resume functioning, after messing with it (?) a bit .. sometimes clicking the wheelbutton seems to re-engage it | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Map throttle to mousewheel. Expected: smooth, fine-grain control of throttle Observed: it works .. but direction is reverse of what one would expect and it stops working if you use keyboard or dx buttons to adjust throttle Not sure what to expect clicking the wheelbutton should do, re throttle.. maybe nothing? maybe that should continue to act as fov-reset function | ||||

| related to | 0000093 | new | AFThrottleUp/Down callbacks too coarse .. seem identical to AFCoarseThrottleUp/Down |
| If do decide to take away the option .. would be good to address https://bmsbugs.blu3wolf.com/view.php?id=93 at the same time -- providing another option for fine-grain adjustment of throttle | |
